A few weeks ago, Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse told the local media in Canada that center Marc Gasol’s face has “looked slim” on Zoom calls.
Well, we now have visual proof that Nurse wasn’t kidding around.
Gasol, who came into the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies on the heavier side, looks like a totally different person now.
Marc Gasol right now 🤯

First, we had “Skinny James Harden.” Then, we had “Skinny Nikola Jokic.”
Turns out, Marc Gasol wanted in on the action as well. The former Defensive Player of the Year looks ready to go for the “bubble” games, which are set to begin on July 30 in Orlando, Florida.
Gasol missed 28 games for the Raptors due to hamstring issues, but he returned just prior to the league’s hiatus in March. The All-Star big man was averaging 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in 36 contests for Toronto before games were suspended.
The Raptors have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. The defending NBA champions are eager to shock the world and win the title again despite the departures of Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.
Toronto will obviously go as far as Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry can lead the organization once the 2020 playoffs start. However, Gasol is very important for the Raptors on both sides of the floor. Toronto doesn’t win the 2019 championship over the Golden State Warriors in six games without the services of the do-it-all Spaniard.
