The 39-year-old legend underwent a body transformation having revealed his three-day water fast diet.

And further fuel was added to the fire after he told fans to expect an announcement – while posting a training picture.

St-Pierre captioned the tweet: “New year, new team, announcement tomorrow.”

Fans were quick to suggest that GSP would making a return to the octagon for the first time since 2017.

But the man himself was quick to spoil the speculation as he confirmed his reveal would NOT be a comeback.

He said: “And no guys, not announcing a fight.”

St-Pierre retired in 2019, two years after beating Michael Bisping for the middleweight title.

It ended his previous four-year hiatus which he took after narrowly retaining his welterweight crown against Johhny Hendricks.

GSP wanted to move down to lightweight, to challenge champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and attempt to become the first man in UFC history to reign in three divisions.

But after St-Pierre held up the middleweight belt without defending it, UFC president Dana White blocked his dream of fighting Khabib.

The super-fight looked dead in the water, until Nurmagomedov called to fight the French-Canadian.

Khabib wanted to retire after 30 fights, and revealed his influential father and mentor Abdulmanap wanted him to do so after fighting GSP.

But after Abdulmanap tragically died in July after a battle with coronavirus, Nurmagomedov announced his retirement in October.

The shock call was made after Nurmagomedov, 32, beat Justin Gaethje, 31, at UFC 254 on Fight Island.

With his goal of 30-0 just one win away, White is hoping to convince Khabib out of retirement.

And fans are hoping a dream-fight with St-Pierre may be enough to bring Nurmagomedov back for one final fight.
