The move comes as vaccines are reportedly being readied for regulatory review as early as October and Democrats raise fears the Trump administration is pressuring the Food and Drug Administration to approve them. The companies, including Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna, could issue the statement as soon as early next week, the Journal said, citing two unidentified sources “familiar with the matter.” “We believe this pledge will help ensure public confidence in the Covid-19 vaccines that may ultimately be approved and adherence to the rigorous scientific and regulatory process by which they are evaluated,” the draft statement says.
